Muslim Cleric Calls for Beheading of Geert Wilders

Geert Wilders

Anti-Muslim Dutch politician Geert Wilders can be so insidious in his attacks against Muslims that he was denied entry into Britain in February, 2009:

The far-right Dutch politician Geert Wilders was turned away from Heathrow today after testing the Home Secretary’s ban on him entering the country.

Immigration officials denied the Dutch MP entry to the country after the Government decided he should not be allowed to attend a screening of his controversial anti-Islamist film tonight. [Times of London]

Many would like to see Wilders suffer in some way for his film.  However,  when a wish for his death assumes a specific form common to certain cultures, although preceded by the verb “should be,”  it is time for arrests to be the order of the day.

Austrailian-born Muslim cleric Feiz Muhammed, also well known for outrageous statements, has said that Wilders should be beheaded.  This is a level of disagreement that is not tolerated in western civilization.

Whenever persons – especially those in leadership positions – issue threats of bodily harm or even wishes for same (that may reach the ear of one who feels compelled to do the deed), an arrest should be made.  This is not freedom of speech; this is inciteful speech.
