Sarah Palin Misstep Alert #2 for Election 2012: Encouraging The Sarah, Michelle and Rowland Menage a Trois

Posted on November 25, 2010

During election 2008, Sarah Palin repeatedly took a tack that saw her running against Michele Obama or some other non-elected DC “celebrity.”  She was in a fight for the Presidency/Vice-Presidency not for head of a commission on lifestyles or eating  habits.  She’s still at it having recently taken off after Michelle’s program “Get Moving.”  Why?  Government is too much in our lives. We can get ourselves moving on our own, thanks.

It’s a good point but is it worth a) spending any amount of national press time on it and  b)  isn’t taking on the President’s wife and not the President beside the point?  There are other ways to illustrate the point that government is into areas they do not need to be.

Enter Rowland Martin  [syndicated columnist; CNN analyst;  a commentator for TV One Cable network and host/managing editor of its Sunday morning news show, Washington Watch with Roland Martin] Since 2008, he has locked his sights on Mrs. Palin and he keeps throwing off ordinance from time to time that is dripping in inflated descriptors of the Alaskan ex-Governor that formerly were entertaining but that now are definitely annoying.  Here is classic Martin:

It’s clear that we can’t go 24 hours without Sarah Palin saying something so stupid that it defies logic, but leave it to the Kim Kardashian of politics to find something wrong with first lady Michelle Obama’s effort to curb obesity in America’s kids. [CNN]

This is pure bombast and beneath a highly respected journalist.

Palin and Martin both need to move on.  Right now when either starts into certain areas, people simply turn off at having to do another tour of the same old familiar provinces with them with the same outcome.
