RNC – Embarrassingly Behind in the kind of Tech That Won the Last Election

Posted on January 4, 2011

We shouldn’t even be having this conversation – not in relation to a major political party in the United States.  It is now apparent to potential new RNC leadership that there needs to be a tech upgrade at headquarters to reach out to voters and to smooth out services.

When asked where they get their news, both Ann Wagner and Reince Priebus replied mostly from the Web, while former Michigan GOP chair Saul Anuzis was more specific. Incumbent RNC chair Michael Steele said he prefers a hard copy of the Washington Post and Maria Cino pointed to the Wall Street Journal and National Review.

Technologically and politically, there is more consensus and cohesion in  the DNC than in the Republican camp.  The GOP being late to the hi tech party has compromised its effectiveness.
