If You are Intolerant, This is Not the Blog for You

SamHenry has observed events since the shootings in Arizona.  In the past tragedies of this scope have brought us together.  Now they only serve as platforms for further political insults and worse.

As we grow more intolerant, SamHenry has tried to keep a footing and watch the compass.  It is difficult.  Disapproval of the views espoused here occur when Sam is thought to seemingly stray over the line.  But where is the line?  In a democracy, shouldn’t there be thought before response?  Does the political and/or social philosophy of any side lock one’s brain and soul into a place from which it cannot stray?

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, a Democrat,  strayed on occasion by reaching out to Republicans.  For this she was labeled a “Blue Dog” Democrat.  You cannot do ANYTHING these days without being labeled and put in a pigeon hole.  Isn’t it ironic that her family labeled her Gabrielle – after an Angel that has historically  crossed religious lines:

Islam believes that Gabriel was the medium through whom God revealed the Qur’an to Muhammad, and that he sent a message to most prophets, if not all, revealing their obligations. He is called the chief of the four favoured angels and the spirit of truth. He is called the created Holy Spirit (Islam) that spoke to Muhammad,[1][2] which is not to be confused with the Holy Spirit of God in Christianity who is revered as God Himself. Gabriel is also mentioned in Bahá’í Faith texts, specifically in Bahá’u’lláh‘s mystical work Seven Valleys. [Wikipedia]

As for Sam, Sam is, well Sam.  Sam likes to wander – to mosey around the web and see it all and discuss it with everyone who will discuss first and shoot last.  That is what this blog is all about.  It would not bear repeating were it not for the way events “unraveled” rather than unfolded  in Tucson and played out around the nation.
