Sarah Palin Trip to India Rich in Speculation; Pregnant with Possibilities for a Presidential Run

Will Sarah Palin soon be sporting this?

It may not have been expected but it is no surprise that Sarah Palin has decided to visit India.  Her computer isn’t down, just her rank in the polls as Michelle Bachmann closes in on her tea party crown. [Washington Post]

While the traditional route to the presidency would be through New Hampshire and Iowa, Palin’s pursuit or non-pursuit of the presidency (pick your assessment camp) began with the resignation of her executive position as Alaska’s Governor before her term was up.  She went on to become one of the most popular individuals in America and a proven pro at fund-raising.

Politico has it just about right.  India is a good move for Palin.  She is going to a destination “friendly, familiar, foreign” and  in the near East.  Indians have so many relatives in this country and so many of them have been successful that being a prominent figure at an annual gathering with high visibility, The Annual India Today Conclave,  can only put her  higher in the polls – at least in India. In a country that has had its share of women Prime Ministers, she is also tapping into a gold mine of acceptance. And if she shows up in a sari, well, she will add the WOW factor in spades to this venture.  Obama’s pre-election speeches in Germany have nothing on this splashy, foxy foray.  You can only admire her moxie.
