The Selling and Sellout of Prince Andrew – Where Need Meets Greed In Politics and Trade

Posted on March 9, 2011

Prince Andrew, an aficionado of fine wine and exquisite women savors a moment with the first lady of Azerbaijan and her daughter.

Fergie is not the only one to have tried to sell access to Andrew.  She was unsuccessful when the British Government and its handmaiden, private industries including those  involved in arms sales have been.  In a very real sense, there may be those who will benefit from throwing a wrench into his ability to perform and thus bring Britain down a bit.  There may be more to this politically than meets the eye.

But there are others – corporate powers –  who are nervous that he will no longer be there as a draw for the Arab kings and other dictators of that ilk whose lifestyle he understands such as his good friend Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Allyev.  The oil-rich dictator has been the subject of investigations and accusations surrounding his alleged use of torture.  Yet here is a man who shares a sense of humor with Andrew and who enjoys private visits with him.  What government or corporate lackey could have achieved that?

Azerbaijan is strategically important not just for Oil.  A former Soviet satellite, it is “the largest country in the Caucasus region of Eurasia. Located at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia, it is bounded by the Caspian Sea to the east, Russia to the north, Georgia to the northwest, Armenia to the west, and Iran to the south.” [Wikipedia]

To maintain control over Iran, you would have to remain on friendly terms with whoever is running Azerbaijan.  In this Andrew has been completely successful.  He also carries out friendships with the Saudi princes who he will visit next month regarding armament sales, England’s bread and butter.

As a-moral and flamboyant and outspoken as he is, Prince Andrew, who has been under attack by his detractors for the past 2 years, has done a good job of it in a part of the world with unorthodox regimes and great dangers lurking beneath the surface.  Andrew is a seasoned diplomat and if he were no longer around in the Middle East, another listening post and perhaps government vehicle for transmitting messages would be lost.  Certainly if there were difficulties with Iran, British and American forces would not have any kind of base for operations there.

Recently and without consulting with the corporations, the British government released a list of firms that have benefited from Andrew’s efforts and that had appreciated his services – four years ago.  It was an old list and many companies have now turned against him. [The Telegraph]

If there is one business that  Prince Andrew truly represents it is the Royal Family or “the Firm” as they style themselves.  In his personal lifestyle he has sold the family short.  It is a business and supports another big business – the tourist industry that encompasses industries from hotels to airlines.  He forgot the Firm in much of what he has done in his personal life and relationships however much he has succeeded in his Trade Envoy role.

Savvy attorneys suing Epstein over  his relationships with under age girls have uncovered something rather interesting about Andrew’s family post divorce:

Fergie, her girls and a Bahamas date with Epstein

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie met convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein during a sunshine break in the Bahamas, it emerged last night.

New documents reveal that Epstein – who paid off £15,000 of their mother Sarah Ferguson’s debts last year – personally met the pair, who were then young children, during a whistle stop trip to Nassau.

Their meeting was long before Epstein’s 2008 conviction and jail term for soliciting prostitution from under-age girls.

The revelation is contained within flight logs that have been seized by lawyers suing Epstein for damages for his abuse of young girls. [Daily Mail]

What is this “connectivity”?  Are the rumors true – did Sarah Ferguson really sleep with wealthy men for money?  If she could be caught with her financial adviser sucking her toes while she sunbathed and her children played nearby, what else would she be capable of?  Are the Yorks tied together by dark secrets?

What really has happened is that the perfection Andrew has exhibited as competent business man in his his role as Trade Envoy crossed paths with the imperfection of his personal life sinking both and the monarchy along with it.  More will come out of this Epstein connection and it, in turn will perhaps shed light on others of the same kind.  And Fergie, like a river, runs through it.

Perhaps the Yorks have had more of a money-making relationship than we were led to believe when Sarah was caught trying to peddle access to  him.  While the royals rarely discuss things publicly, their worst nightmare is when the public discusses them.  The Queen will put an end to this before the wedding.  [see article here in which SamHenry’s prophecy has come true] Andrew will accept some lesser role and hope for a lower profile.  But investigations of him are heating up in Britain over his relationship with Epstein and it is a sure thing that Sarah won’t stay quiet forever.  She has built a business on spilling any beans she has in her jar.
